I found the game quite entertaining and challenging as well as the music complimentary. Also, as Sameezy said, the lack of jump (as well of the lack of ability to fall off ledges) was annoying at first, but it added to the game's challenge and fun. However, I have three pet peeves that I would like to mention in chronological order. First off is the starting keys. Once I click play, the game does not register that I am playing it, so I need to click again in order to use any keys to move. I think that your players will feel more at ease from the get go if you can just click play and move, without having to click on the game again. Secondly would be the music. In case of outside interruptions, once you start the game, it would be nice to be able to toggle the music on and off. Lastly, and I realize this is just a pet peeve and not really important to the gameplay, I find that it's annoying that Bitboy and the monsters can go between the stone door blocking the entrance and the door. I find myself questioning the logic of this many times as in real life, if I could pass between a locked door and the threshold it's guarding, I wouldn't run around trying to find keys in order to go through the threshold. But as I said, it is an awesome game and I look forward to playing your full game

Thanks yes there is a bug with the doors z-ordering, this is more a problem from melonjs i had to write the maps manually to avoid this and didn't wanted to go tough the full library ^^. The Full Game will be completely changed. I will create an own Engine for it specially and it won't be a game made in few days i'm planning to work on it 1-2 Years ^^ to make it as good as it is possible for me.

The idea is great, and it's nice to incorperate live action into a flash, however, since you used youtube, the player is at the mercy of the processor speed moreso than normal. That being said, a lot of times, the video feed glitched and due to the short window allowed to shoot the guys, one second you are waiting for them, the next they shot you. This could be better done if the guy took time to aim rather than shoot wildley at you (pop out, pause, then shoot). In reality, that's what had to happen as you'd never guarantee a hit like your game intales. Also there are 6 shooters and 8 shooter revolvers. you seem to have a 5 shot revolver programmed (sorry if I miscounted)

Another little quirk I noticed in your game is that your hat is backwards in the first scene. It's a little obvious given the close up.

But to end on a positive note, I like the concept and also I quite enjoyed the title transitions. It was quite refreshing

Kenney responds:

Sorry to hear you had some problems with the game. Streaming the video from YouTube is not the best idea but since we have limited funds we can't buy our own hosting.

We have no knowledge on guns, so I'm sorry for the mistake on the revolver chamber.

Thanks for your in-depth review! :)

This was an awesome game. Keep it up

Thank you.

Great platformer. It's the third time I've played. For those who have a hard time in the sand (orange) world, Jump up to a high spot and place your mouse there. Your sprite doesn't move along the x axis so if you use that and jump accross the blocks at the top of the screen found at the beginning and near the end of this world, you can use your cursor as a guide not to jump off.

As for the game, like I said, it's a great platformer. However, when you only have the blue world left having completed the green and grey world, and just having completed the orange one, you are sent back to they grey world. I think this was mentionned but I just wanted to make sure you knew of this bug. But it's such a minor nuissance that I won't dock stars.

NoLanLabs responds:

Fixed that bug. Glad you liked the game. That's the technique I used for the orange world too, finally got it after 50 tries or so.

For a 48 hour game, this was well done. It was short but I think your point was to say life is short, so I don't mind. I think the main idea I get out of this is that we spend so much time trying to discover ourselves and focus on the future that we forget to take the oppertunity to enjoy today.... That's a deep message for such a short game... I tip my hat to you guys....

HighUpStudio responds:

Thanks for the comment. As you said, game is short, but life is short too. It goes with the message. And also, we only had 48 houres, so we couldn't make a longer game. :P

The riddle seemed pointless to me as it seemed to reffer to the thing in the vines passed the two statues. But that only was important after you had the drill despite the guy telling you that you need the riddle to get the drill. Also, like others have mentionned, the tree riddle was really confusing. I needed your walkthrough for basically that. Last negative comment was that it was too short. When you really got into the game, since it's been a while since I played the other two, you declaired it's to be continued. I am actually dissapointed since it seems like something you rushed through and didn't complete. I hate to do this, but as I expected better from you, I can only give three stars.

Again, sorry

Turnip leaves are sometimes eaten as "turnip greens" ("turnip tops" in the UK), and they resemble mustard greens in flavor. Turnip greens are a common side dish in southeastern US cooking, primarily during late fall and winter. Smaller leaves are preferred; however, any bitter taste of larger leaves can be reduced by pouring off the water from initial boiling and replacing it with fresh water.

I won't rate your game as it seems like an underdevelopped concept and I do wish to be fair. However I tried reloading the game but can't seem to be able to poke or bag the characters I battle. The arrow responds to the mouse but no comand is given.

However I do see great potencial (or else I wouldn't have commented) and I hope to see a later version of this.

Thanks for the review!
